Baby’s Got Battitude

Hey everyone!  Here is a picture of my new niece, Abigail, on her first Halloween.  Drew and Maggie have put me in charge of Abbey’s Halloween costumes so here’s her debut outfit.  I actually bought the pacifier separately and it worked just perfectly with her bat outfit.

This outfit is actually a shout out for my mom, as she taught a unit on bats and found them so interesting that she came a bit of a bat expert.  Frequently she would weave bat fun facts into random conversations.  Of course, we would take every opportunity to make fun of her for being such a bat freak, but in reality we all admired her passion for learning and teaching.

Mom, this bat’s for you!  I hope you are getting a big chuckle out of this.  We love you!

Also, I added some new pics and text to my earlier post from Cambodia.  The internet connection cut off before I could upload all the pics.  I was trying to be slick and have the post pre-written….obviously a better idea in theory than in practice.  Also, trying to download the RAW converter with a sketchy internet connection has proved to be a challenge so unfortunately you won’t get to see the Nat Geo grade (yeah right) photos, but I did thankfully take some with my point and shoot so you can still see something.  Also, I’ve changed the shooting mode on my SLR to jpegs now too so I added some of those pics as well.  I know all the photographers are cringing, but it is what it is on the road.  I hope you enjoy!

More to come from Vietnam shortly.  A typhoon struck Vietnam a few days ago and the flooding is so bad that we cannot travel by train so we are taking an emergency flight out tomorrow AM.  The storm hit before our arrival so we’re fine, but the beaches are a mess and the sea is very rough.  Best to get out of this beach town now.  I’ll be in touch shortly.

Also, comments have been re-enabled so comment away, friends!
